*CANAL LAURINSTON was bred in Ballinafad, County Galway, Ireland by Padraic Hynes. Village Laura is the dam of *CANAL LAURINSTON. She was three times Supreme Champion at teh Royal Dublin Horse Show, teh first of her breed ever to be so honored. His sire, Callowfeenish Mairtin {Mar-cheen}, is owned by Lady Maria Levinge, Bunclody, County Wexford, Ireland. Mairten has been shown extensively in the British Isles and Europe, featuring ladies' sidesaddle jumping exhibitions. After winning the Yearling Colt Class at the Galway Breedres Show and placing second in the Yearling Colt Class at the 1991 Clifden Show, *CANAL LAURINSTON was purchased by Stonybrook Connemaras and imported to Napa, CA. He has been trained exclusively by Lee Webster, beginning his first show season in the summer of 1994 at the West Coast Connemara Show in Central Point, OR. There, he was Dressage Champion, Champion Stallion In-Hand, Breed Classic Supreme CHampion, Reserve Champion of the Green Working Hunter Division and Overall Reserve Champion Purebred In Performance. He went on to two more back-to-back wins as Breed Classic Supreme Champion and Overall Purebred Performance Champion in 1996. *CANAL LAURINSTON, also known as "Chip", has
competed successfully in AHSA/USCTA Combined Training Horse Trials, qualifying
for the 1996 Area VI Training Level Championships. For the last two years, he
has competed exclusively in dressage, Training Level through Third Level. He is
now schooling Fourth Level. *CANAL LAURINSTON passes on his jumping
ability and exemplary movement to his get, as well as his kind and curious
