Upgrade is a beautiful modelled son of the well-known showjumping stallion Heartbreaker. In his performance test Upgrade impressed with his powerful jump and super hind technique. In addition, this stallion displayed superb movements, in walk, trot and canter. Upgrade's sire, the Nimmerdor son Heartbreaker, is from a real jumping family. He was successful with Peter Geerink in the international showjumping sport. The eldest offspring by Heartbreaker are presently winners at Grand Prix level. Examples are, for instance, Quasimodo van de Molendreef, Quartz Music, Quintin, Saffier, Zip and Skybreaker. In the pedigree of Upgrade the genes of Heartbreaker are combined with those of the Westphalian mare Palette, a daughter of the famous Pilot. This son of Pilatus is thé top stallion in Westphalia and produced a huge amount of international showjumping horses and licensed stallions.

Examples of his successful offspring in the sport are Priamos (Ludger Beerbaum), Poker (Otto Becker), Showtime (Nick Skelton) and Pirol (Lesly Mc Naught). The dam's line of Upgrade has its origins in Westphalia. Great-granddam Madame is a half-sister to the Westphalian stallion Glücksritter (by Grünhorn).The well known stallion Frühling has laid the foundations of many International showjumping horses through his sons Frühlingsball and Frühlingstraum I and II.

Upgrade placed highly in several young horse championships in 2007, and his first foals, presented a year earlier, were praised for their expression and superb movement.
