WODAN is a "sport-approved" elite breeding stallion, approved by the German Hannoverian, Oldenburg, Hessen, Rheinlander, and Badenwuerthenberg (Bawue) registries. He stood at Uelzen, Germany, prior to his importation to North America, and competed at Grand Prix level under Franke Sloothak in the mid 1980's. Bred by Klans Wulff and owned at one time by Gisela Schockemohle, WODAN is a half-brother to Winnebago, the New Zealand import who produced Mark Todd's Olympic show jumper Bago and Andrew Nicholson's eventer Tempo. Another half-brother, Witzbold, sired Monopoly; imported into the United States from New Zealand after becoming the 1989 Show Jumper Horse of the Year with Jon Cottle. WODAN's full brother Wunschtraum (#31-52020-77), stands at the Westfalen State Stud in Germany.

WODAN himself has produced several International Grand Prix offspring, including Tascalusa, Wallentino, and Wodyna; these and many others traceable through the German Yearbook of Breeding. Another son, FBW Wembley, is one of the top performance horses at Grand Prix level in the Badenwuerthenberg Association.

WODAN sold in Germany in 1989 by private sale for 800,000 DM, and is shown above at an indoor Grand Prix in Vienna in 1987; Franke Sloothak aboard.

This is a rare opportunity to breed to an exceptional stallion of outstanding bloodlines at a very reasonable price. Export-qualified frozen semen is available, with exports already to New Zealand.

Additional photos of WODAN and representative offspring out of Thoroughbred and Selle Francais mares are available. One of his local foals, Why Bother, out of the High-Score non-Hanoverian mare at the July, 2002 Inspection at Rainbow Equus Meadows, was favorably mentioned.

WODAN is now deceased.  We have 100+ pregnancy-proven, quality straws available. Average conception rate to date has been an exceptional 72% per cycle.
