We are happy to arrange consultation with colleagues and breeders worldwide either for individual cases or as part of a herd management program, breeding laboratory design and equipping, or personnel training. We have designed two large equine breeding laboratories in southern California, from consultation with contractors in the very beginning regarding construction, hot water, and electrical details, to ordering all of the equipment and supplies, custom stainless-steel sinks, and training staff in their proper use. Another project in Nicaragua involved assessment of a fertility problem in a champion stallion, and subsequent travel to freeze semen from him, set up a breeding laboratory, and train the local veterinarian. Another involved the AI of mares using frozen semen in the Philippines (photo above is of the homemade stocks built ahead of time by the two guys in the photo to accomplish this), plus a one-day course in bovine embryo transfer at the government bull collection facility on Mindanao. We have also consulted with a native Fijian interested in starting a swine and cattle breeding program on various aspects of breed selection, nutrition, fencing, facility design and management. We currently provide local, individual case consultations on demand at Valley Oak Veterinary Center in Chico (canine) and at Crossroads Veterinary Hospital in Anderson (equine).
